Hosting a Drupal 9 national government site with AWS

Welsh scenary

Code Enigma has been working with public sector organisations for many years. Specifically, the Welsh Government since 2016. Initially, we provided a level of Drupal support, focusing on hosting and deployments.

What we did

We won an open procurement tender opportunity for this project. Consequently, our comprehensive responses met all of The Welsh Government’s requirements.

Firstly, we provided a highly available server layout with an accompanying dev server and utility server. The latter hosts their Jenkins and Gitlab instances. This was to host the BETA version of their main site, gov.wales. Secondly, we provided a strong, secure and reliable infrastructure.

The main aim of the project was the migration of their corporate website and platform from a legacy CMS to Drupal. We provided Infrastructure, DevOps support, services and setup for 40 smaller sites.

Currently, the Welsh Gov site is running Drupal 9, the latest version.

We've helped the Welsh Government with hosting, more recently. Read their hosting case study here.

Let's start our project together
